The EZ Open foot operated door pull mounts on any commercial latch-less wood or metal door, and gives the user the option of pulling the door open with their foot instead of the door handle. With EZ Open, the weight of the door is not a factor. If an interior door closer resistance is adjusted to the ADA standard of 5 pounds or less, then the user will be able to easily open the door with their foot using EZ Open.
Take a pencil and mark the holes while holding EZ OPEN against the door in the mounting position. Our device should be mounted approximately ⅛ from the bottom and outer edge of the door.
Wooden Doors: Use the barrel bolt for the middle hole and the 1-inch screws for the outer ones. Take a ¼ drill bit and drill through the middle hole entirely. Make sure to keep the drill perpendicular to the door whilst drilling. After making sure the EZ OPEN is level, install the two 1” outer screws.
Metal Doors: Use the barrel bolt for the middle hole and the 1 inch flat self-drilling screws for the outer holes. Take a ¼ drill bit and drill through the middle hole entirely. Make sure to keep the drill perpendicular to the door whilst drilling. After making sure the EZ OPEN is level, install the two flat self-drilling 1” outer screws.
While holding our device against the door install the sexed bolt in the center hole. Before tightening completely check to see that the EZ OPEN is level. After checking, install the two outer screws. Tighten the center bolt and check over the EZ OPEN (making sure that it is leveled and properly screwed in).
Survey the area to see if there are any interference issues. Open the door completely and check if there are any issues with the wall, floor, or mounted door stop.
Wipe down the door with a clean cloth and appropriate cleanser. (Preferably an alcohol-based cleanser). Please allow the cleaning agent to dry thoroughly. After the door has dried down place the EZ OPEN instructional decal above or below the door handle.
